Dr. Dirk Otto, LL.M. specializes in advising M&A transactions, joint ventures, commercial agreements and general corporate law issues such as corporate transformations, group reorganizations and corporate governance. He advises both corporate groups and medium-sized companies on multi-national acquisitions and sales of companies, restructuring due diligence reviews and joint venture agreements and commercial law contracts.

Dr. Dirk Otto has also been admitted as a notary at the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main since 2011 and, advises in particular in the field of corporate law, as e.g. on the formation and restructuring of companies, national and international M&A transactions, general meetings, shareholders‘ meetings and creditors‘ meetings, but also on succession arrangements, real estate purchases and other notarial arrangements. Before joining the firm in 2013, Dirk Otto was a partner in an international law firm in Frankfurt/M. from 2001 to 2013 and prior to that an associate, later junior partner, in an international commercial law firm from 1995 to 2001. From 1992 to 1994, he was a research assistant at the Institute for Foreign and International Private and Commercial Law at the University of Heidelberg.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London and a board member of the African Law Society.

From 2012 to 2016, Dirk Otto taught international arbitration law at the International Hellenic University in Thessaloniki. He is co-editor and co-author of the commentary „Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards – A Global Commentary on the New York Convention“, published by Kluwer, and regularly publishes on international private law, arbitration law and commercial law topics.
